My Father

During church service, I observed a father with his young daughter. She was free to be herself because He reassured her with gentle smiles and many hugs. At times she raised her arms pretending to dance, and swayed back and forth knowing that if she started to flail, her father’s strong arms would save her. Other times she would stare deep into his eyes to ensure he noticed her. His kind eyes would meet hers and light up her face. There were moments when she started to run out of the boundaries set for her. He would give her a stern look saying “that’s not what I have for you now.” She would immediately listen and return to his arms. One time she looked away and refused to listen to her father. He followed her and brought her back in his arms, close to his heart. She fought for a minute, then realized she was in the presence of her loving father who knew best, and received his comfort.

This picture reminded me of how The Father looks at us. He gazes upon us with complete and perfect love. He yearns for us to stare into His eyes tor confirmation and acceptance rather than this world. He has the best for us because it is His best. He calls us to trust Him through the deepest grief and on the highest mountain top. He will never turn His back and say “enough, I’m done with you!”;He only looks at His children and wants more for them. He know this life is difficult and exhausting but He is preparing a better place for you. Hold on a bit longer. He has you. Run to Him over and over again. He never tires of you returning to Him. Wait on Him. Seek His face. He will not lead you astray. He sent The Perfect Sacrifice to die in your place to give you purpose and a great HOPE.

Children of God, believers in Jesus Christ - He sees you barely hanging on, He hears your faintest of cries. He knows, He truly knows what you’re going through. He is with you in the darkest of places and most silent of times. He is here for you. Hold onto Him in your faith no matter how small it may seem. He has your next step. He is trustworthy and worthy of all praise.
